| Textual description | NUTS ist die Abkürzung für „Nomenclature des unités territoriales statistiques“. Es handelt sich dabei um eine hierarchisch gegliederte Systematik der Gebietseinheiten für die Statistik, die schon vor Jahren von Eurostat in Zusammenarbeit mit den Mitgliedstaaten etabliert wurde und mit der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 1059/2003 vom 26.
